Trump-Linked Crypto Firm Accused of Profiting from Blacklisted Chinese AI
The Trump family's cryptocurrency firm, World Liberty Financial, has drawn criticism for its partnership with a Chinese AI company that distributes models built by firms the U.S. government has flagged as security risks.
The arrangement allows the president's family to draw revenue from models made by companies the government has blocked from trade or sanctioned.
As of June, the Trump family's revenue from selling World Liberty tokens topped $1.4 billion (about 2 trillion won), with a total crypto earnings of $2.3 billion (about 3.2 trillion won).
Experts have raised conflict-of-interest concerns, saying it 'looks hypocritical' to make big money using Chinese tools while the U.S. government is trying to counter the rise and threat of Chinese AI.
