Trump-Linked Crypto Investors Face Estimated $4.7B Losses Since 2022
A recent report by Public Citizen estimated that investors in cryptocurrency ventures linked to Donald Trump and his family have lost at least $4.7 billion since 2022, with most of these losses being unrealized.
The largest portion of the estimated losses came from the TRUMP token, where investor losses were put at about $3.2 billion. Data from Nansen showed that roughly 1 million of the 1.6 million Solana wallets that purchased TRUMP were holding unrealized losses.
Public Citizen also estimated losses associated with WLFI at at least $1 billion and calculated about $450 million in unrealized losses on the 9,477 Bitcoin held under Trump Media's crypto treasury strategy.
