Trump Media Abandons $6.42B CRO Treasury Deal
Trump Media & Technology Group has abandoned its plans for a $6.42 billion Cronos (CRO) treasury, less than a year after announcing the deal with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition Corp.
The companies mutually terminated their proposed business combination on August 7, citing 'prevailing market conditions' and changing priorities. The decision comes as Trump Media shifts its attention towards its media operations and pending merger with TAE Technologies.
The original plan involved a publicly traded company centered on accumulating and managing Cronos tokens, with a $1 billion CRO investment, $200 million in cash, and $220 million from mandatory exercise warrants. A $5 billion equity line of credit brought the total funding package to $6.42 billion.
