Trump Media Abandons Crypto Plans Amid Market Volatility
Trump Media Group is reevaluating its crypto push and has abandoned plans to establish a publicly traded CRO token accumulation company. The decision comes after Trump Media bought $105 million of Cronos' native token, CRO, in September 2025 as part of a broader partnership with Crypto.com. This partnership also included plans to integrate token rewards into Trump's products. However, due to prevailing market conditions and shifting business priorities, the three companies involved, Trump Media, Crypto.com, and Yorkville Acquisition, have mutually decided to terminate these plans.
The proposed venture would have created a publicly traded company focused on accumulating CRO tokens and earning returns through staking. This news has caused CRO to fall as much as 5%. Additionally, the companies are walking away from another partnership that involved Crypto.com servicing planned exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for Yorkville America.
