Trump Media Dials Back Ambitious Crypto Plans
Trump Media has scaled back its ambitious crypto expansion plans without abandoning digital assets altogether. The company announced it is unwinding some of its biggest crypto projects, including a large CRO treasury venture and an agreement with Crypto.com to service Yorkville America ETFs.
The move comes as Trump Media shifts its focus towards its core businesses and a proposed merger with fusion-energy developer TAE Technologies. Interim CEO Kevin McGurn cited market conditions and changing business priorities for the decision, pointing to increased competition in the digital-asset treasury market rather than regulation.
Despite scaling back some crypto projects, Trump Media retains other crypto exposure, including Bitcoin treasury holdings and Truth.Fi. The company's shift towards a more selective approach to its crypto strategy is seen as a positive development by investors, who can expect a more stable and focused business going forward.
