Trump Media Ditches Cryptocurrency Plans Amid Market Saturation
Donald Trump's company, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), has announced that it will be distancing itself from cryptocurrencies. This decision comes after a strategic review under new management, which aims to redirect resources towards media operations and its planned merger with fusion energy company TAE.
The company had previously announced plans to partner with Crypto.com on several initiatives, including the launch of a publicly traded CRO treasury company. However, due to changing market conditions and evolving priorities, these plans have been mutually terminated.
TMTG Interim CEO Kevin McGurn stated that the digital asset treasury market has largely reached saturation point in the past year, making it less appealing for aggressive growth. The company will focus on transforming Truth Social's user base and data into new revenue streams, including partnerships with high-frequency trading companies and major language model developers.
