Trump Media Dives into Crypto Volatility Management After $190M Losses
Trump Media has announced a significant shift in its crypto treasury strategy following net losses of $238 million in the second quarter of 2026. The company accumulated $190.4 million in unrealized losses on its digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC), which was valued at around $890.5 million as of July 31.
The new framework aims to manage Bitcoin volatility through the use of financial options and generate premium income. A portion of the company's BTC holdings will be deployed through lending and other yield-generating mechanisms.
In its second-quarter earnings report, Trump Media warned about the risks associated with its yield-generation strategy, citing counterparty credit risk and potential loss of assets if third-party agreements are unsecured.
