Trump Media Overhauls Crypto Treasury Amid $238M Q2 Loss
Trump Media is overhauling its digital asset treasury strategy after a $238 million net loss in Q2, driven by unrealized losses on cryptocurrencies and securities.
The company reported $190.4 million in unrealized losses across its digital assets, pledged digital assets, and equity securities.
To manage volatility and improve the productivity of its balance sheet, Trump Media plans to preserve its long-term digital asset exposure while revamping its strategy.
As part of this shift, the company will direct more resources towards Truth Social, Truth+, and other parts of its media business.
Trump Media's Bitcoin holdings were relatively unchanged during Q2 but increased significantly in July after the company sold $159.6 million worth of Bitcoin-related securities to purchase more BTC.
