Trump Media Posts $238 Million Quarterly Loss Amid Cryptocurrency Slump
Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social and prediction market platform Truth Predict, reported a $238 million quarterly loss in Q2 2026. The losses were largely due to declines in the value of the company's Bitcoin holdings, other digital assets, and stock investments.
The company held approximately 9,477 Bitcoins worth around $557 million by the end of June. However, the recent slide in Bitcoin prices has significantly impacted Trump Media's portfolio. Over the past year, Bitcoin has dropped over 46% in value, trading near $63,500 recently.
Trump Media also held a substantial amount of Cronos tokens, worth around $40 million at their peak but now valued at about 5 cents each after falling roughly 72% over the past year. The company has begun unwinding parts of its partnership with Crypto.com and ended plans for a separate publicly traded company that would have generated yield by staking Cronos tokens.
The quarterly loss was not solely due to cryptocurrency losses, as Trump Media also incurred $25.6 million in legal expenses related to litigation with former partners and executives over ownership stakes following its 2024 merger with Digital World Acquisition Corp.
