Trump Media Reports $238M Loss Amid Cryptocurrency Depreciation
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) reported a significant loss in its second-quarter financial results. The company posted a net loss of $238.1 million, a sharp increase from last year's loss of $20 million.
The main driver behind the increased losses was the depreciation of TMTG's cryptocurrency holdings, resulting in unrealized non-cash losses. This contrasts with the positive revenue growth, which rose to $1.7 million this quarter, up from $0.9 million last year.
TMTG has been expanding its offerings, including a new data feed product called Truth API. The company charges between $60,000 and $100,000 monthly for real-time access to high-profile posts on its platform, Truth Social. TMTG has already secured over 10 agreements with trading firms.
The company is also moving forward with its planned merger with TAE Technologies, a deal worth $6 billion. The goal of the merger is to capitalize on the growing demand for energy from AI data centers.
