Trump Media Sells Another 2,628 Bitcoin, Holdings Fall Below 4,000
Trump Media & Technology Group has sold another significant portion of its Bitcoin holdings. The company offloaded 2,628 BTC to Crypto.com over two transfers recorded by blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain. This brings the total number of BTC sold in the past seven months to 7,281, worth approximately $545 million at an average price of $74,855 per coin.
The remaining Bitcoin holdings for Trump Media now stand at 4,261 BTC, valued at around $269.8 million. The company purchased a total of 11,542 BTC in the past at an average price of $118,522 before starting to sell its holdings seven months ago.
This development comes as lawmakers debate the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act, which has sparked scrutiny over ethics rules and potential conflicts of interest involving public officials and their digital asset interests. Critics have pointed out concerns surrounding Trump-linked crypto ventures, including the Official Trump (TRUMP) and Melania (MELANIA) memecoins.
Recent transfers to Crypto.com follow earlier Bitcoin movements recorded on May 22, when Trump Media-linked wallets transferred a combined 2,650 BTC worth approximately $205 million.
