Trump Media Sells Off $360 Million Worth of Bitcoin Amid Financial Woes
Trump Media & Technology Group reported significant financial losses in the first half of this year. The company's net loss was $360.6 million, and its Bitcoin holdings decreased by 65 coins to 9,477 in Q2. This asset reallocation reflects the impact of falling cryptocurrency prices on the company's financial health.
The quarterly report showed that the value of Trump Media's CRO token has declined, and it has terminated its joint venture plan with Crypto.com due to current market conditions and shifting priorities among the companies and their stakeholders. The fair value of Bitcoin held by Trump Media decreased from $557.1 million at the end of June to an unknown amount as of Q2. In addition, 4,260.73 Bitcoins were used to collateralize convertible notes, and another 2,077.34 were allocated to Bitcoin options for MicroStrategy (MSTR.US).
