Trump Media Stock Plunges After Disappointing Earnings and Crypto Retreat
Trump Media & Technology's stock took a hit on Monday, plummeting over 8% to $9.36, after the company released a disappointing quarterly earnings report.
The Q2 2026 net loss came in at $238.1 million, with an Adjusted EBITDA loss of $223.5 million. Management attributed most of these losses to $190.4 million in unrealized losses on equity securities.
Revenue was up 89% from the same quarter last year, but still a relatively low figure at $1.7 million. The company's struggles were compounded by its decision to unwind its partnership with Crypto.com and cancel plans for a publicly traded digital-asset treasury company that would have bought and held BTC tokens.
This move was part of Trump Media's strategic retreat from its cryptocurrency ambitions, which also involved withdrawing its SEC filings for both a Bitcoin ETF and a combined Bitcoin-Ethereum ETF due to intense competition in the crypto ETF space.
