Trump Media Suffers $361 Million Crypto Losses Amid Broad Market Downturn
Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, saw its Bitcoin holdings drop by 65 BTC in Q2 2025. This decline contributed to a total loss of $361 million for the first half of the year, driven primarily by the fall in cryptocurrency prices.
The company's fair value of its remaining Bitcoin holdings was estimated at around $567 million as of June 30. However, 4,260.73 BTC were pledged as collateral for convertible notes, and 2,077.34 BTC were used for a Bitcoin options strategy.
This reduction in holdings reflects the broader market conditions, with Bitcoin experiencing significant price swings after reaching record highs in late 2024. The company's use of Bitcoin as collateral highlights the growing trend of companies integrating digital assets into their corporate finance operations.
