Trump Media Suffers Crypto Losses Amid Bitcoin Price Decline
Trump Media & Technology Group, parent company of Truth Social, reported a decrease in its Bitcoin holdings during the second quarter of 2025. The company's digital asset portfolio took a significant hit due to declining cryptocurrency prices.
According to CoinDesk, Trump Media's Bitcoin holdings fell by 65 BTC between April and June, leaving it with 9,477.16 BTC at the end of the quarter. The fair value of these holdings was estimated at $567 million.
The company has pledged a portion of its Bitcoin holdings as collateral for convertible notes and a Bitcoin options strategy. This approach introduces additional market risk but can provide liquidity or hedging benefits.
Trump Media's use of cryptocurrency investments has resulted in $361 million in losses for the first half of 2025, driven by the decline in Bitcoin's price during that period.
