Trump Media Suffers Over $200 Million Loss on Shaky Bitcoin Holdings
Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent of Truth Social, reported a significant financial loss in its Q2 2026 results. The company's net loss reached $238.1 million, largely due to non-cash mark-to-market losses on digital assets and equity securities.
The decline was driven by the sharp fall in Bitcoin prices from the levels at which Trump Media accumulated much of its holdings. The company bought 11,542 Bitcoins for about $1.37 billion and has since moved 7,281 coins, according to on-chain analysis.
As a result, Trump Media's crypto strategy has generated around $361 million in losses. The company still holds approximately 9,477 Bitcoin, alongside roughly 2,077 Bitcoin pledged to its yield-management programme and about 14.4 million shares of the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF.
