Trump Media & Tech Group Suffers $238 Million Quarterly Loss Due to Cryptocurrency Slump
Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social and prediction market platform Truth Predict, reported a $238 million quarterly loss in the second quarter of 2026. This significant decline is largely attributed to the value decrease of its Bitcoin holdings, other digital assets, and stock holdings.
The company held approximately 9,477 Bitcoins valued at around $557 million by the end of June. However, due to the recent slide in Bitcoin's price, which has dropped more than 46% over the past year, Trump Media incurred substantial paper losses.
Trump Media also held over 756 million Cronos tokens, worth about $40 million, but these have fallen roughly 72% over the past year. The company has begun unwinding parts of its partnership with Crypto.com and ended plans for a separate publicly traded company that would have built a treasury of Cronos tokens.
While Trump Media's losses were not solely due to crypto, the company recorded $25.6 million in legal expenses tied to litigation with former partners and executives over ownership stakes. Despite this, Trump Media reported signs of progress, including an 89% increase in revenue to $1.7 million, largely driven by the commercial launch of its Truth+ streaming service.
