Trump Media Transfers $165M in BTC to Crypto.com Amid Share Price Drop
Trump Media & Technology Group transferred 2,628 BTC worth approximately $165 million to Crypto.com on August 2. The company's spokesperson confirmed that the coins were moved but denied any sale. This transfer is part of a larger trend, as Trump Media has now moved a reported total of 7,281 BTC over the past seven months.
The two transactions consisted of a first transaction worth 2,429 BTC and a second worth 198.9 BTC, per Arkham Intelligence data. After the transfers cleared, wallets publicly tagged as Trump Media held roughly 4,261 BTC worth approximately $268 million. This figure is nearly identical to the 4,260.73 BTC Trump Media disclosed as collateral for its convertible notes in its Q1 2026 SEC filing.
The company's DJT shares have declined more than 25% over the same seven-month period, while Bitcoin briefly fell below $63,000 before recovering to near $63,065 on August 2. The transfers arrived alongside the rollout of Trump Media's new paid data service, called the Truth API, which offers companies real-time access to posts from high-profile Truth Social accounts.
