Trump Media's CRO Treasury Plan Fizzles Amid Market Downturn
The Trump Media & Technology Group's (DJT) plan to establish a publicly listed CRO treasury company, valued at approximately $6.42 billion, has been terminated along with two other accompanying initiatives.
The deal, announced in August 2025, aimed to create the first and largest publicly listed CRO treasury company, accumulating around 6.313 billion CRO tokens, nearly one-fifth of CRO's circulating supply at the time.
Crypto.com, a top-tier exchange that had partnered with DJT, would provide custody for Trump Media's ETFs and develop a prediction market product called Truth Predict, embedded into Truth Social.
However, the market conditions offered no room for the deal to move forward. Crypto.com's CEO Kris Marszalek stated: 'After examining these proposed ETFs and DATs from every angle, we reached the same conclusion, continuing to move forward under the current market environment does not make sense.'
As Bitcoin nearly halved from its peak and treasury-holding public companies retreated across the board, DJT has pivoted toward a direction completely unrelated to crypto. In December 2025, the company announced an all-stock merger with fusion energy company TAE Technologies, valued at over $6 billion.
