U.S. President Donald Trump hosted a summit of crypto and technology leaders at the White House on August 19, 2026, to discuss regulatory frameworks for digital assets and artificial intelligence.

The meeting aimed to address the current regulatory landscape surrounding cryptocurrencies, with the CLARITY Act, a landmark bill that would define SEC and CFTC jurisdiction over digital assets, remaining stalled in the Senate.

The summit was attended by Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Paul Atkins, Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Michael Selig, and Chairman of the NYSE and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange Jeffrey Sprecher.
