Trump Meme Team Unloads $26M in SOL Ahead of Token Unlock
A wallet tied to the Official Trump meme coin team has made another significant transfer of SOL tokens. The team moved 11.01 million SOL, worth approximately $26.65 million, ahead of a scheduled token unlock on September 18. This is not an isolated incident, as the team has been transferring large amounts of TRUMP-linked tokens to exchanges since April.
The latest transfer comes as the TRUMP token price hovers near $2.41, down about 96% from its January 2025 peak of $73.43. The scheduled unlock on September 18 will release 28.7 million TRUMP tokens, approximately 2.9% of total supply.
The team's willingness to extract value through various mechanisms has been well-documented. This includes direct exchange transfers, custody shifts, and liquidity-pool maneuvers that produce the same economic result as a sale without technically registering as one.
