Share

U.S. President Donald Trump met with representatives of the crypto industry at the White House on August 19, 2026. The president emphasized the importance of passing the CLARITY Act, a market structure bill that will provide regulatory clarity for the sector.

The meeting was attended by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi, Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse, and Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. TradFi representatives, including Nasdaq CEO Adena Friedman and Intercontinental Exchange CEO Jeffrey Sprecher, also took part.

According to Trump, the CLARITY Act is crucial for maintaining American leadership in international competition. He urged Congress to pass the bill, which will make all progress achieved by his administration durable and preserve it for decades to come.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong noted that the current version of the CLARITY Act is the result of painstaking work, with a compromise reached on certain points with Democrats. The vote on the bill will take place on September 15, and Armstrong emphasized that it's essential to pass the law to ensure its durability.
