Trump Rejects AI Oversight, Calls It 'SICK Conspiracy'
US President Donald Trump has dismissed calls for greater government oversight of artificial intelligence (AI), calling it a 'SICK conspiracy' against AI and data centers. The president claims that his presence in the Oval Office is enough to prevent rogue AI, stating 'The only control or 'guardrails' that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!'
This comes after tech leaders such as Anthropic's Dario Amodei and OpenAI's Sam Altman called for greater government oversight of AI to ensure its safe development and prevent potential risks. The White House has repeatedly downplayed these concerns, with Vice President JD Vance stating 'I don't think Americans should be scared of anything.'
Trump also claimed that the administration has already stopped Anthropic from doing potentially bad things, despite the Pentagon labeling the company's models a security risk and temporarily banning one of its advanced models.
