President Donald Trump has claimed that more people are using Bitcoin for payments, describing cryptocurrency as 'a big deal' for the US. This comes as the Senate delays a vote on the CLARITY Act until September.

The majority leader, John Thune, announced that lawmakers will take up the bill when they return from recess in September. The delay is due to disagreements over proposed ethics provisions and other parts of the legislation.

Trump also linked cryptocurrency leadership to competition with China and other countries, stating that the US needs to remain a leader in crypto and artificial intelligence rather than allow other nations to take the lead.
