Trump Set to Meet with Crypto Executives at White House

Share

US President Donald Trump is set to meet with senior executives from the crypto and prediction markets at the White House on August 19. The meeting, which comes just one day before a key CFTC committee meeting on crypto and prediction markets, aims to address regulatory uncertainty and overlapping federal and state authority in these emerging markets.

The SEC's Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Michael Selig are expected to attend the meeting, along with top executives from major digital-asset firms. This direct approach to policymakers could provide an opportunity for crypto companies to raise issues related to market structure, trading platforms, and federal regulators.

The White House event follows recent efforts by D.C. Housing Resources to set out clearer guidelines for digital assets. The CFTC Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC) meeting on August 20 will also focus on the future of crypto regulation and prediction markets, with discussions on regulatory uncertainty, market surveillance, and customer protection.
