US President Donald Trump has sounded an alarm over China's ambitions in artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrency, warning that dominance in emerging technologies could provide a major economic and strategic advantage. He stated that Washington must maintain its lead over Beijing in AI, as the country that wins the AI race will gain a significant advantage.
Trump also expressed concerns about China taking over crypto, citing the growing use of Bitcoin for transactions, which he sees as a positive trend for the US economy by reducing pressure on the dollar. He noted that nobody thought it was possible for the US to lead China in AI.
The President also touched on domestic politics, warning that a Democratic victory could make him the 'last Republican president.' He suggested that Republicans in the Senate need to take action to prevent such an outcome.
