Trump Stimulus Plan Sends Shockwaves Through Crypto Market
Anthony Pompliano, chairman and CEO of Procap Financial, believes that President Trump's proposal to send $5,000 stimulus checks to every adult American citizen could lead to higher prices for Bitcoin, gold, and land. This idea was announced by Trump on September 9 at the Republican National Committee's midterm convention in Dallas.
The proposed payment, called the Trump Dividend, would require congressional approval and is meant to share the country's economic gains with citizens. However, Vice President JD Vance later clarified that the payments would not go to wealthy individuals, suggesting that tariff revenue could fund them.
Pompliano sees this move as a potential catalyst for higher asset prices, but notes that the market's immediate reaction has been subdued, with Bitcoin trading below $78,000 on September 10. He argues that future distributions of cash could lead to increased demand for assets like Bitcoin and gold.
