Trump Targets Meet the Press Host Over Endorsement Record
US President Donald Trump has launched a public attack on NBC's Meet the Press host Kristen Welker, claiming she reported 'purposeful inaccuracy' about his record of endorsing candidates.
Trump took issue with Welker's characterization of his endorsements during primary elections as having 'mixed results', which he said was incorrect. He shared statistics showing that 98% of Republican House primaries and 100% of Republican Senate primaries this year have been won by candidates he endorsed.
Trump threatened to report Welker to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a 'rebuke or punishment' and invoked FCC Chair Brendan Carr, stating that he hopes the independent agency will take Trump's concerns seriously.
The president also made a separate attack on what he called 'FAKE POLLS USED BY OUR CROOKED MEDIA', threatening to do something about it, but it is unclear what action the FCC would be able to take.
