Trump Team Moves Millions in TRUMP Memecoin Amid CLARITY Act Deadline
Donald Trump's team has made a significant move in the TRUMP memecoin market, shifting nearly $17 million worth of tokens to three Fireblocks custody wallets. According to Arkham Intelligence data, the transfers were distributed across three wallets, with approximately $5.5 million worth of TRUMP tokens moved to an address on Fireblocks first. This comes as the CLARITY Act deadline looms, sparking speculations about the team's intentions.
The latest movement drew attention as a large portion of the token is still under the control of insiders, who have the ability to sell up to 96 million tokens at the current price tag of $150 million. This figure represents approximately 9.6% of the entire token supply and is significant given that it accounts for about 40% of the current total token supply.
The CLARITY Act, which aims to regulate digital assets in Washington, has been a point of contention. Despite Senate Majority Leader John Thune's efforts to get the bill to the floor prior to the August recess, key issues remain, including ethics rules and consumer protection. The recent on-chain movement has sparked discussions on the Internet.
