Trump to Host Crypto Executives Amid SEC's New Rules
President Donald Trump is set to host cryptocurrency executives at the White House on Wednesday as U.S. financial regulators prepare to advance their framework for certain digital assets.
The event, scheduled for the afternoon, will feature remarks from Trump and technology leaders, according to his official schedule.
Crypto executives and industry trade group representatives are expected to attend, along with top regulators including Mike Selig of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Paul Atkins of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The SEC has proposed rules that would exempt certain token offerings from securities regulations, making it easier for crypto companies to issue tokens and raise money.
