Trump to Host Crypto Executives at White House Amid CLARITY Act Uncertainty
President Donald Trump is set to meet senior crypto executives at the White House on August 19, as regulators prepare for a separate public policy meeting and the Senate awaits its next procedural step on the CLARITY Act.
The gathering will bring together executives from top companies including Coinbase, Ripple, and Chainlink Labs, with SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Michael Selig also in attendance. The White House has not published a final attendee list or agenda, so the plans could change.
One day after this meeting, the CFTC's Innovation Advisory Committee will meet for its first public session, where members including Armstrong, Garlinghouse, and Nazarov will discuss crypto assets, artificial intelligence, prediction markets, and recent CFTC activity in those sectors. The committee's official membership list includes executives from a range of industries.
The timing gives crypto executives two consecutive days to raise policy concerns in Washington. The Senate is scheduled to vote on the CLARITY Act in September, which would divide federal oversight of digital assets between the SEC and CFTC and set requirements for market participants.
