$TRUMP Token: Trump Denies Involvement as Price Surges and Collapses
U.S. President Donald Trump has distanced himself from the $TRUMP token, saying he is not operating it and doesn't monitor its performance. The token was launched on January 17, 2025, just days before his second inauguration, with a total supply of 1 billion tokens and approximately 200 million publicly issued.
The related entities CIC Digital and Fight Fight Fight hold about 80% of the tokens, with a three-year lock-up period and revenue from transaction fees. The token's price trajectory has been extremely steep, briefly surging to around $73-$75 after its launch before collapsing by about 97%, with recent prices around $2.2-$2.4.
On-chain statistics show that many wallets have accumulated losses amounting to billions of dollars, while related parties can still account for transaction fees and token sales. Trump has repeatedly attributed the operation to his children and 'large institutional management,' stating he is not even sure if the rules allow him to intervene.
