President Donald Trump has defended his $1.4 billion cryptocurrency business against ethics concerns, claiming he only talks to his children about saying 'I love you'. Speaking with Punchbowl News, Trump criticized lawmakers' efforts to include a provision in the Clarity Act that would limit him from profiting off digital assets.

'They want to do a bill, and in the bill, they want me to be different than everybody else,' Trump said. 'I don't mind putting it in a blind trust; I don't run it myself anyway. I let my kids run it.'

The president has made similar claims in the past when questioned about his business dealings with foreign governments or companies that contract with the U.S.

Trump's children, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, oversee World Liberty Financial, the family's main crypto company. The firm made over $800 million from its cryptocurrency ventures, including a novelty token called $TRUMP, which was launched right before his inauguration.
