Trump Unveils Plan for Crypto-Friendly US Economy
President Donald Trump hosted tech and crypto leaders at the White House on August 19 to discuss innovations that advance American interests. The meeting came a day before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Innovation Advisory Committee held its first gathering. Reducing regulatory obstacles and bureaucratic red tape are priorities for this group, as stated by President Trump.
The president highlighted his administration's efforts to support new financial technologies, including removing Gary Gensler from the Securities and Exchange Commission chair position and terminating 'Operation Chokepoint 2.0,' which aimed to block crypto and de-bank digital assets. Trump signed executive orders related to this subject in his second term, establishing a strategic Bitcoin reserve and banning federal agencies from creating a central bank digital currency.
Trump also mentioned the GENIUS Act, which sets guidelines for dollar-backed stablecoins, passed in July 2025. He emphasized that these developments will benefit every American by maintaining the United States as the financial center of the world.
