Trump Urges Passage of CLARITY Act Amid Crypto Regulation Efforts

Share

U.S. President Donald Trump held a press conference at the White House on August 20, calling for the passage of the 'Digital Asset Market Clarity Act' (CLARITY Act). The bill was passed in the House of Representatives in July 2025 but has stalled in the Senate due to controversies.

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that the bill would make U.S. crypto policy sustainable and speculated it could receive over 60 votes when the Senate votes on September 18. Trump said the bill has high bipartisan support, calling on legislators to advance it in memory of late Senator Lindsey Graham.

The CFTC and SEC are also advancing agendas related to crypto regulation during this time.
