Trump Urges Senate to Pass Clarity on Crypto Regulation
US President Donald Trump urged the Senate to pass the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act at a White House meeting with crypto and finance executives. The bill, which has been stalled in the Senate for months, aims to provide clarity on digital asset regulation and is expected to return to the Senate floor in September.
The CLARITY Act passed the House of Representatives in July 2025 but faces opposition from Democrats due to concerns over tokenized equities and stablecoin rewards. Trump said that passing a fair version of the bill would keep the US ahead of China and open the door to digital asset innovation.
Crypto industry executives, including Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, attended the White House gathering and expressed support for the bill. Armstrong speculated that the bill could secure more than 60 votes in the Senate once a cloture motion is addressed.
