Trump Warns Oil Prices Won't Drop Until After Midterm Elections
The US stock market started Thursday down after President Donald Trump's comments on oil prices and the Iran war. He said that elevated oil and gas prices won't come down until after November's midterm elections, which could impact the global economy.
Brent crude futures hovered above $100 a barrel mark yesterday, closing at its highest level since May amid growing worries about renewed fighting between the US and Iran disrupting oil supplies.
Trump also warned Iran 'not to get cute' in reference to activity at Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected Iranian nuclear site. The president made these comments during his speech to the GOP midterm convention last night.
