Trump Weighs Capital Gains Tax Cut, Potentially Rewarding Bitcoin Holders
U.S. President Donald Trump is considering a move to reduce capital gains taxes, which could benefit investors who hold Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
According to Bloomberg, Trump is weighing the idea of indexing capital gains to inflation and expanding tax exemptions for some home sales ahead of November's midterm elections.
Former National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow said he recently discussed indexing capital gains with Trump, who liked the idea.
Kudlow stated that Trump was 'very interested' in both indexing and raising the exemption on home sales to $2 million or less from capital gains taxes, which is well above the current exclusion of $250,000 for single filers and $500,000 for married couples.
