Trump Welcomes Garlinghouse to White House Crypto Summit
The XRP community is abuzz after President Donald Trump personally introduced Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse at the White House crypto summit on August 19.
Garlinghouse was among a select group of industry leaders and government officials in attendance, including SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Michael Selig, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
The meeting marked the kickoff for the CFTC's newly formed Innovation Advisory Committee, which includes Ripple, Coinbase, a16z, Chainlink, and Kalshi. The committee will hold its first public session on August 20, focusing on crypto regulation.
The CLARITY Act is also looming in the background, with a procedural Senate vote scheduled for September 15 to advance or stall the bill.
