Trump's $65B Venezuela Oil Deal: A Game-Changer for Energy Markets and Crypto
US President Trump has announced a major oil deal with Venezuela that could have far-reaching implications for global energy markets and the price of Bitcoin. The agreement grants US companies majority control over more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil, roughly 21% of the country's total reserves.
The deal is a public-private partnership between the US government and private industry, with a joint venture securing a 100-year concession to operate the oil fields. According to Trump, this will 'more than double' US oil reserves and eventually lower gas prices for Americans.
Lower energy prices could ease inflation and give the Federal Reserve (Fed) room to cut interest rates, which in turn would likely support Bitcoin and other risk assets. Falling yields would also boost the Nasdaq, a major stock market index.
