Trump's AI Plan Unveils Unified Federal Standard for Artificial Intelligence

The Trump administration is close to establishing a national framework for artificial intelligence (AI), which could replace the numerous state-level AI laws with a unified federal standard.

This initiative, led by the White House's National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence, aims to provide developers with more transparent guidelines while dealing with issues such as child safety, AI-generated deepfakes, and innovative opportunities provided by regulatory sandboxes.

The framework, published on March 20, 2026, is not a regulation or an executive order but rather a legislative proposal for Congress. It suggests that the administration wants to abolish the many AI regulations in different states and come up with a single federal standard.
