Trump's Crypto Empire: Billions Made, but Ethics Worries Remain
US President Donald Trump has maintained that he doesn't discuss his billion-dollar cryptocurrency ventures with his children, who run the Trump Organization. In a recent statement, Trump claimed to only talk to them about saying 'I love you'. However, this assertion has been met with skepticism by some due to revelations of significant profits from these businesses.
The Trump family's main crypto company, World Liberty Financial, earned over $800 million in 2025. This figure is part of a larger total of $1.4 billion made from the president's cryptocurrency ventures that year. Notably, an investment firm with ties to the United Arab Emirates bought a near 50 percent stake in World Liberty Financial just days before Trump's inauguration.
The White House had announced a deal with the UAE to supply American-made computer chips to an AI campus in Abu Dhabi after Trump took office. Democrats have responded by pushing for new terms of the Clarity Act, which would establish rules for the cryptocurrency industry.
