Trump's Crypto Empire Could Be Sold Under New Legislation
Donald Trump's family has built an extraordinary crypto empire while he has been in office, with Reuters estimating their crypto ventures have added at least $2.3 billion to their wealth.
The President's personal financial disclosures revealed more than $1.4 billion of crypto-related income during 2025, and his administration has championed Bitcoin, backed stablecoins, and supported legislation giving the industry regulatory certainty.
Now, Trump has agreed to provisions that could require him to sell substantial crypto holdings or place them into a blind trust to get the CLARITY Act through the Senate.
This is not just about Trump's personal finances; it's also about the future of the American crypto industry. The CLARITY Act would establish how the broader digital asset market should be regulated and where responsibilities sit between agencies such as the SEC and CFTC.
