Trump's Crypto Empire Exposed: Conflict of Interest Concerns

Share

Last Week Tonight host John Oliver shed light on Donald Trump's crypto dealings in their latest episode. The segment highlighted the 'flagrantly corrupt and compromised' nature of Trump's involvement with World Liberty Financial, a company that has become the most valuable asset to the Trump family.

The company is involved in legitimate cryptocurrency endeavors, but it has also provided an easy way for the Trumps to receive money from foreign governments and investors. Chinese billionaire Justin Sun invested $75 million in governor's tokens of World Liberty Financial, while a U.A.E. official nicknamed 'The Spy Sheikh' contributed $500 million.

Oliver notes that many people may have tried to avoid learning about crypto, but this is precisely the problem. The host believes that if these conflicts of interest were easier to understand, there would be more alarm about Trump's dealings.
