Trump's Crypto Empire Raked In Over $2 Billion, Warns John Oliver
Last Week Tonight host John Oliver criticized President Donald Trump's crypto dealings, calling them 'flagrantly corrupt and compromised.'
Oliver revealed that in his first year back in office, Trump's personal income surged to over $2.2 billion, with most of it coming from the family's crypto businesses, which brought in about $1.4 billion.
The comedian focused on two main crypto ventures: the president's meme coins and World Liberty Financial. He explained that meme coins often follow pump-and-dump schemes, spiking in value when they first come out before crashing with insiders selling at the peak.
Oliver warned that Trump's meme coin is 'just the tip of the iceberg' and pointed to questionable deals surrounding World Liberty Financial, including a $45 million investment by billionaire Justin Sun that was later settled for $10 million.
