Trump's Crypto Push Ignites Market Optimism
US President Donald Trump's latest push for Congress to advance crypto legislation has sent shockwaves through the market, with Bitcoin rising around 16% since his August 19 White House meeting with executives from major financial firms.
The CLARITY Act, which aims to create clearer classifications and regulatory responsibilities for digital assets, remains politically contested due to concerns about conflicts of interest involving public officials with crypto holdings.
Despite these challenges, the administration has already made significant strides in shaping US crypto policy, including establishing a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve in March 2025 and issuing an executive order in May directing regulators to integrate digital assets more directly into traditional financial services.
The White House says the administration has also established a federal stablecoin framework through the GENIUS Act.
