Trump's Crypto Ties Set for Scrutiny in Midterm Elections
Democrats are preparing to probe President Donald Trump's crypto connections if they retake control of Congress in the November midterm elections. According to Bloomberg Government, Democrats across key committees in the House and Senate have expressed interest in investigating Trump's crypto ventures, which netted him $1.4 billion during his first year back in office.
Rep. Brad Sherman (Calif.), the top Democrat on the House's subcommittee on capital markets, stated that he cannot imagine a more enjoyable topic to discuss than Trump's crypto ties. The president's memecoin launch has been a central focus of Democratic efforts to rein in Trump and his family.
Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.), the vice ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee, expressed frustration with the administration's lack of cooperation, saying that 'we are so far behind the ball on oversight.'
