Trump's Crypto Ventures Exposed as 'Corrupt and Compromised'

Share

Last Week Tonight host John Oliver criticized Donald Trump's involvement in cryptocurrency ventures, calling them 'corrupt and compromised.'

Olivier highlighted two schemes, referring to them as 'the big one and the dumb one', which he likened to Trump's sons Eric and Don Jr.

The first scheme involved Trump memecoins, unique cryptocurrencies that inflate in value before crashing. Trump publicly launched his memecoin on social media, initially sparking concerns about a potential hack of his account due to erratic capitalization in his statements.

The coin soared to $50 billion in value but plummeted 92% by the following November, despite Trump cashing in on a substantial $636 million during the upswing. He attempted to increase the coin's worth by promising access to the White House for investors, resulting in a brief spike in value.
