Trump's Cryptocurrency Windfall Surpasses Business Earnings by $2.5 Billion
Donald Trump's wealth has skyrocketed since taking office in 2024, surpassing his earnings as a businessman over six decades. According to a recent Bloomberg report, his net worth increased from approximately £1.73 billion to £4.81 billion in just two years, marking an impressive 183% growth.
The primary driver of this rapid wealth accumulation is the crypto sector. Trump's family decentralized finance platform, World Liberty Financial (WLF), generated around $800 million, with $520 million coming from cryptocurrency sales and an additional $250 million from equity sales.
The memecoin $TRUMP also contributed significantly to his earnings, despite its valuation dropping by 97%. Reuters estimates that while buyers lost over $700 million, the Trump family profited at least $616 million. Traditional sources of income include his golf club in Doral and media deals with companies like Meta.
However, Trump's business dealings have sparked accusations of conflicts of interest due to his family's involvement in these ventures. The Senate has labeled Jared Kushner's assets as a 'glaring and incurable conflict of interest,' citing his firm Affinity Partners' $2 billion commitment from the Saudi sovereign fund.
