Trump's Ethics Pledge Crucial to Passing Clarity Act
Senator Cynthia Lummis has praised President Donald Trump for agreeing to the 'toughest ethics restrictions' in U.S. history to get the Clarity Act passed.
The bill aims to formally divide oversight between regulators, distinguishing which digital assets are securities, commodities or stablecoins, rules crypto industry executives have long called for.
Lummis wrote that Trump had already agreed to stricter ethics rules in July, covering himself, the Vice President, and all federally elected officials, judges, and their spouses.
The updated draft of the Clarity Act gives state attorneys general new powers to enforce conflict-of-interest rules on federal officials.
